CSSA Co-Ed Tournament hosted ten teams from the three counties (Hanover (4) , Henrico (1)  and Chesterfield (5).  The CSSA Ravens came in 4th place.  The CSSA Rockets placed 3rd. 

The Hanover Teal Team came out of the loser's bracket to beat the Hanover Blue team  in the 1st Championship Game,   Hanover Blue had been undefeated all day.  After playing 7 innings in that game, both Hanover Teams decided to become Co-Champions rather than play another game.  Congrautlations to both Hanover teams for their performance. 

Congratulations to  ALL participating teams for a tournament well played and good sportsmanship.

Three teams from CSSA entered the Henrico Tournament on Saturday, July 17th.

All teams began play at 10am at Glen Allen Complex. The Orange Team, managed by Don Graham was unable to overcome an obstacle with the field and the heat that could have been handled more equitably, which contributed towards their first loss.

The Green Team, managed by Darnell Williams won their 1st two games that morning and then enjoyed the lunch provided by Henrico Senior Co-Ed. Then they met the CSSA Teal Team, managed by Barbara Williams and Laurie Terry.

CSSA Teal managed to win both their first two games by 1 run and coming from behindboth games. Then, at the 2pm game, Green struck blood first and held the lead until late in the game. Teal came back, tying the game. Teal and Green played two extra innings, playing the 1 pitch per batter rule. Finally, Teal pulled ahead, sending Green to play Henrico, who eventually placed 3rd.

In the Championship Game, Teal was able to pull away from Green.

This was surely due to the heat and the team being tired from having played their 3rd game in a row.

There was great fun and camaraderie displayed by both teams. A great representation of CSSA.

Laurie Terry, Assistant Co-Ed Coordinator was named Tournament MVP. Laurie got extra base hits when we really needed them and played exceptionally in the field. It is a great way for Laurie to begin her wedding week celebrations. Congratulations Laurie.

Henrico Co-ed

There were 11 teams competing in the Hanover Co-Ed Tournament this year.

Chesterfield was able to field 3 teams. All three teams made it to the finals.

Chesterfield Green, managed by Joe Ferguson played well until they met up with Chesterfield Teal, managed by Darnell Williams. Chesterfield Teal then played Chesterfield Orange, managed by Norm Smith in the Championship Game.

Orange came out on top, taking the win. Jake Jakubec was named the Tournament Most Valuable Player. Way to go Jake and all the CSSA Teams and Players.
